This drawing was an attempt to duplicate the environment of the Haunted Mansion. The tile and rug work was found on the internet and repainted in Photoshop. I made the girl's dress look slightly different than the actual park costumes.
So, this drawing is about how the mansion got haunted in the first place (I haven't seen the movie). It was this woman that started the chain of the 999 deaths. She was having an affair with Master Gracey, the owner of the mansion. She was madly in love with him. But, she found out that he was arranged to be married. And since she was part of lower class society, she could never be with him.
Master Gracey only fed her obsession by telling her how if she killed his bride to be, that they would run away together. She gladly accepted and murdered the bride to be in the attic by pushing her out the window. She later had told her master that the deed had been done only to find out that she had been used to do his dirty work and that Gracey did not lover her.
She bashed him over the head with a fireplace poker where he died (the fireplace with the decaying face painting before entering into the ride). She had placed his body on the chair that was facing the fireplace and locked the room behind her. After that, she killed herself. And that is when the haunting began.
Kinda scary for a Disney ride, but meh.
The Haunted Mansion is copyright Disney.

That's a pretty creative story. Better than the one they cooked up for the movie, since the movie's plot is nothing like any of the stories said to be the plot of the Mansion rides. If you're interested in the stories, note me. I don't wanna spam your page with it if you don't want it. Anyway, the whole picture is really cool. I love her eyes, and the wallpaper looks awesome in red.

Thank you. I'm glad you liked my little story that came with it. The only stories I've heard, were from the doombuggy webpage. But, that's about it. So, sure, I'd be curiouse to know what stories you're talking about. Thanks for the compliment.

Your eye for details astonishes me! The wallpaper alone would have driven me mad!!

I really like your story too. I hear they're revamping the ride AND the story. Is it true, do you think?

Thank you for the favorite spot and the compliment! Well, I would love to say that I painted every single pattern on the tile. But, I didn't. It's a nifty command in Photoshop that I discovered that saved me time considerably. But, I still painted it (if that makes any sense).
I'm glad you enjoyed my story. I saw the article about Disney changing the ride a little bit on the club page. Half of me isn't surprised and the other half is. Then again, sometimes ya can't believe everything you read online. But, if Disney does change the ride, and create a real story behind it, no one is going to want to go on the ride repeatedly. It would be like watching "the 6th sense" repeatedly. Why would you want to watch something you already know the surprise ending to? I think the imagineers that created the ride wanted their audience to not understand what was going on and to go on it again just to try and make sense of it. Also, for the audience to create their own perceptions of what stories are behind the Mansion. Like, what's with the singing Vikings?!
